What is LVC surgery?

LVC surgery is a highly effective, advanced procedure that corrects refractive errors such as near-sightedness (myopia), far-sightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. Using state-of-the-art laser technology, LVC reshapes the cornea to improve light focus on the retina, providing clear and stable vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses.

At SEON Vision, we make providing you with the finest care a priority and we ensure the most appropriate treatment for your specific needs. With continued advancements in both technology and technique, LVC delivers lasting results, helping you lead a life away from glasses or contact lenses.

How can LVC surgery help?

Long-term vision improvement
LVC surgery provides lasting vision correction and often eliminates the need for glasses or contact lenses entirely. Many patients enjoy clear vision for years with only rare cases that need adjustments or re-treatment.

Quick recovery time
As a minimally invasive procedure, the recovery time is short. Most patients can return to work and other normal activities within just a day or two - with straightforward aftercare and minimal risk of complications.

Freedom from glasses and contacts
Enjoy the freedom to live life without the hassle of glasses or contacts. Whether you’re active in sports, travelling or just want clearer vision day-to-day, LVC helps you experience life more fully.

Improved confidence
Say goodbye to the discomfort and inconvenience of corrective lenses. Many patients feel more confident and at ease in social and professional situations after surgery, with most wishing they’d done it sooner.

Customised to your eyes
LVC is tailored specifically for your eyes. Advanced technologies like LASIK and KLex allow for personalised treatment to ensure safe and effective results.

Types of laser-based procedures

  • Trans PRK

Unlike other laser treatments, Trans PRK does not require the creation of a corneal flap. Instead, the laser gently removes the surface layer of the cornea, allowing for precise reshaping and faster vision recovery. This “no-touch” technique reduces discomfort and delivers long-term clarity.

  • LASIK

LASIK is a popular and effective laser eye surgery that reshapes the cornea. The procedure involves creating a thin flap in the cornea, followed by the removal of corneal tissue to improve how light is focused onto the retina. LASIK is quick, virtually painless and has a fast recovery time. Most patients experience significant vision improvement within hours and many can resume normal activities within a couple of days.

  • PTK

PTK is a laser procedure designed to treat a variety of corneal conditions, such as scarring, dystrophies and recurrent corneal erosion. Using an excimer laser, PTK removes damaged tissue from the surface of the cornea to smooth irregularities, improve vision and reduce discomfort. This non-invasive treatment is highly effective for conditions that affect the cornea’s surface and can restore clarity by addressing issues caused by trauma, infection or previous surgery.

Meet our Laser Vision specialists

What to expect

  • Our experienced surgeons will assess your eye health, review your medical history and discuss your vision goals during an initial consultation. Using advanced diagnostic technology, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs. You'll be fully informed and prepared for your surgery.

  • On the day of surgery, your eyes will be numbed with anaesthetic drops to ensure comfort. The procedure itself is quick and precise, typically taking around 15-20 minutes for both eyes. Our surgeons use advanced technology to perform the surgery, ensuring optimal results. You’ll remain relaxed and well-cared-for throughout.

  • After surgery, we provide detailed aftercare instructions to help the healing go smoothly. You may experience some mild discomfort, but this is typically short-lived. With 24-hour access to our team and follow-up visits to monitor your progress, our patient-centred care continues for a year after your surgery to support your recovery.
