LASIK
Femtosecond-LASIK (Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) is one of the most popular and effective laser-based treatments for correcting common vision problems. Experience the clear, focused vision you’ve always dreamed of.
Overview
At SEON Vision, we offer femtosecond-LASIK, a safe laser eye surgery designed to correct common vision problems. By reshaping the cornea, LASIK improves how light is focused on the retina.
With a high success rate, more than 90% of patients achieve 20/20 vision and the procedure is known for its quick, painless nature and fast recovery time. Say goodbye to glasses and contact lenses and experience the clarity and convenience of improved vision with LASIK.
How it can help
LASIK can help with a variety of common vision problems. It effectively corrects:
Myopia (near-sightedness)
Hyperopia (farsightedness)
Astigmatism
By reshaping the cornea, the clear front part of the eye, LASIK allows light to focus properly on the retina, the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye.
Are you a candidate?
LASIK may not be suitable for everyone, which is why a thorough eye examination is necessary to determine if you’re a good candidate. Key factors to consider include:
You have a healthy eye or eyes
You have a stable prescription: LASIK can treat:
Myopia up to -10.00D
Hyperopia up to +4.00D
Astigmatism up to 6.00D
You have adequate corneal thickness, as the laser reshapes the cornea
You are aged between 18 and 45 years old
The benefits of LASIK
Quick and efficient
LASIK is a fast procedure and usually takes just 15-20 minutes for both eyes. Most patients report little to no discomfort during the treatment, making it convenient for individuals who lead busy lifestyles.
Minimal recovery time
One of the major benefits of LASIK is the speedy recovery. Many patients notice improved vision within hours, and most are able to return to their usual activities within just one to two days.
Long-lasting results
LASIK offers permanent vision correction for most patients. You’ll enjoy clear vision for years with minimal need for follow-up procedures.
Less discomfort
LASIK’s corneal flap technique leads to faster healing and less discomfort compared to alternative methods, such as PRK.

What to expect
-
Before your LASIK procedure, we begin with an assessment to ensure you’re a suitable candidate. Our team of healthcare technicians and clinical optometrists, alongside your fellowship-trained consultant surgeon, will evaluate your eye health and anatomy. This step is crucial in developing a personalised treatment plan, so you can feel confident knowing that your surgery is tailored to your specific needs.
-
On the day of your surgery, your eyelids will be numbed with anaesthetic drops to ensure comfort. The surgeon will use a femtosecond laser to create a thin flap in the cornea, which is gently lifted. Afterward, an excimer laser reshapes the cornea to correct your vision, followed by repositioning the corneal flap without stitches to allow for natural healing.
-
Recovery after LASIK is typically a quick process, with most patients experiencing improved vision within hours. Some mild discomfort, such as dryness or irritation, is common but this doesn’t last long. You’ll be given aftercare instructions, including prescribed eye drops and possibly protective eyewear for the first few nights. Follow-up appointments will also be scheduled. At SEON Vision, we continue to monitor your recovery for up to 12 months to ensure the best possible outcome.
